God‘s goal in creation is to raise sons unto himself after his image and likeness on the face of the Earth. As good as deliverance may be , this cannot be able to achieve this and its not God’s idea to get his sons to himself through that means.
God delivered Israel out of Egypt and intended to get them to himself as a royal priesthood (Exo.19:4-5) through the law he gave to them on Mount Sanai, but Israel never left Egypt in their minds as they will not submit to the word of the Lord. This is why all of the deliverances going on today in the church cannot produce the desired results, because that which will keep men in position with and in God is missing, and that is man treasuring the word of the lord is in his heart.
In Rom 12: 1-2, we are told.. “ I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]”. AMP.
The channel God has ordained for us to be transformed is through the word as we are renewed in our minds. Renewing the mind is a factor of word assimilation and application.
And the mind has a spirit, so we are told. … “And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude]”, Eph 4:23 AMP.
This is where desired change comes from, man’s mental and spiritual disposition. This is what ‘deliverance’ cannot achieve for us.
So man begins his journey of transformation through and in the word. So when we read of John1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God””.
The “word” as used here is “logos”, which among other things means thoughts. So then when we are talking of the word, we mean the thoughts of God.So in receiving the word of God, you are receiving his thoughts and becoming one with him.
“For as he (a man) thinketh in his heart, so is he: ..” Prov. 23:7 (KJV) Meaning man can’t be better than his thoughts. “You are your thoughts.”
Therefore when we read… In “Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (KJV)
God is simply rebuking mankind for thinking below his thoughts as sons on Earth. He who is renewed in the spirit of his mind thinks the thoughts of God as demonstrated by Jesus in his earthly ministry.
Paul writing to the Corinthians Church on marriage matters said..
1 Cor.7: 25 Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful…. 40 But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God.
The word Judgment (gnome,) speaks of cognition, opinion, resolve, counsel, judgment, mind, purpose, will.
Can you imagine that the thoughts and opinion Paul shared as instructions became rules as part of the inspired word of God?. He has become one with God in his thoughts.
This, my friends is the transformation needed which we can walk into in God as intended. A realm in that which the deliverances cannot produce. Sonship is transformation!
