“EVERY EYE WILL SEE HIM”

Revelation 1:7, “Behold, He cometh with the clouds and every eye shall see Him, and they also that pierced Him, and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him.”

Let me tell you a story of a minister of the Gospel in the USA (Name withheld) in the late 70s and early 80s. This guy would leave his wife in bedroom every midnight to stand outside under the moonlight with no clothes on, making sure he is not under any tree in a bid for him not to miss the rapture.

That’s what religious belief and ignorance can do to anyone no matter your level of education once you build your hope on a wrong doctrine and premise.

Now looking at the above passage, the common understanding we have is that, Jesus will be coming ‘WITH CLOUDS’ and ‘every eye shall see Him even those that pieced Him’ (Rev 1:7).

Friend, don’t miss this fact, Jesus left in A CLOUD, so He shouldn’t be coming in CLOUDS, and if so it’s no longer in like manner. Every eye’ did not see Him when He ascended, therefore it cannot be the same manner for every eye to see Him coming back.

It therefore means that we need to understand what the clouds are, with which He is coming, and the ‘every eye’ that must see Him in the clouds etc, in order to have a clear picture of what the spirit is saying.

In true Biblical interpretation, you must first look into the OT to see how a term is used and then look into the NT to see how it is unfolding in God’s plan and purposes being the ultimate goal of all scriptures.

Read this

Zach.12: 10-14 “And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.

12 And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives…”

So a careful look at scriptures will reveal that John borrowed the language of Prophet Zechariah in Rev.1:7 as an apocalyptic writing.

For the Jews, they knew that John borrowed his every eye shall see him, and they also they that pierced him,” from, other Jewish Books and especially Prophet Zachariah.

The Hebrew word for “family” is mishpachah and it means “family; by extension a tribe or people.”

So, in essence, Zechariah was saying that the “tribes of the land” would mourn for Him whom they had pierced.

Who were those “tribes?”

“The inhabitants of Jerusalem.” According to Zechariah, the “earth” is the land of Palestine, specifically, Jerusalem.

Also, it is those tribes, i.e., the nation of Israel, who would “look on Me whom they had pierced.” And because of that, “the mourning in Jerusalem” would be great.

And, we see that the “tribes of the earth” in Rev. 1:7 are the nation of Israel.

The “earth” is Palestine. The land that would mourn is Jerusalem.

So for John, Zech. 12:10-14 was applicable to Jesus’ crucifixion; and the judgment that came to Jerusalem in AD 70, the Clouds being the Roman soldiers , like the Lord rode into Egypt in a cloud in Isa 19:1 through the Assyrian Armies.

But furthermore, this would receive final fulfillment when “all the tribes of the earth” would mourn when they looked on him whom they had pierced (hard speeches and rejection) when Jesus would returned in the clouds of glory to judge the Earth not to rapture away anybody.

What then would be this CLOUDS OF GLORY with which He is coming for Judgment?

We know that clouds speak of people already.

So we read.

2 Thes.1: 6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

10 When he shall come to be GLORIFIED IN HIS SAINTS, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day”

We know this Book was written AD 50-51, some 20 years before the fall of Jerusalem in AD70. So Paul was encouraging this church.

Now you notice this parallel, while the unbelievers are being punished, the Saints are being glorified, not taking away.

This essentially is what His coming will be.

“Beloved, now are we the sons of God; and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that when he shall appear we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”( 1John 3:2).

You ‘see’ to become, not to go away. Hence we are told..

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2Cor.3:18)

Where is He coming from?

“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory”.(Col.3:3-4, see Phil.3:20-21)

Simply from within like on the mount of transfiguration.

In Deut .33:2, Moses referred to the COMING OF GOD WITH Israel. And he said,

“ The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with WITH thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them”

Now, there was no physical man called God when they came from Mt Sinai, but God was in their misdt.

Even so, Jude said of the NT saints (Church).

Jude 14 “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord COMETH WITH ten thousands of his saints,

15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage”.

Amp. Jude 14 It was of these people, moreover, that Enoch in the seventh [generation] from Adam prophesied when he said, Behold, the Lord comes with His myriads of holy ones (ten thousands of His saints).

Meaning, he has become one with the Saints, so they are the myriads of Himself.

Jude took His word from Dan.7: 10

“A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened”

Let us understand this, God Judged sin in Christ, Christ Judged the devil on the cross

( John 12: 31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out)

And the next stage? , the Saints (in and with Christ) shall judge the world.

“Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church) (1Cor.6:2-4)

Therefore,

“ …Until the Ancient of days came, and JUDGMENT WAS GIVEN TO THE SAINTS OF THE MOST HIGH; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom…. And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him( through the Saints)” (Dan.7:18,22,27)

If you can understand how Samuel and Deborah were Judges in Israel, then this wouldn’t be difficult for you to understand. And there was no Physical God with them before they do so.

And so when Israel asked for a king, God told Samuel they have not rejected you but me.

Conclusively, every eye will see Christ through the Glorified Church, as it’s the man-child (the overcoming Church) that shall rule the nations with a rod of iron. (Rev.12:5)
