“These are they which follow the lamb withersoever He goeth. These were redeemed from among men, BEING THE FIRST FRUITS UNTO GOD AND TO THE LAMB” Rev.14:4.

 

“By his own will he brought us into being through the word of truth, so that we should have first place among all his creatures” James 1:18 GNT.

The first fruit company of God on the earth today among men is those begotten of the Father through the word of truth. They are his initial harvest right now on the face of the earth from and in all nations.

Now the word of truth is everything God has revealed to the human race. This is also called the law of liberty or supreme law.

So in James 1:21-25, we are told…

“…accept and SUBMIT TO THE WORD which has been planted in you and can save your souls. But you must do what the word tells you and not just listen to it and deceive yourselves. To listen to the word and not obey is like looking at your own features in a mirror and then, after a quick look, going off and immediately forgetting what you look like. But the man who looks steadily at the perfect law of freedom, (from legalism) and makes that his habit – not listening and then forgetting, but actively putting into practice – will be happy in all that he does” Jerusalem Bible.

 

So you see, the Christian’s true freedom is based on the impartation of the life of God through the word. Now get me right, the word that saves our soul is not just a speech or the sound of a message you are hearing or have heard, but it is the life of God Himself. For the scripture says, “In the beginning was the word and the word was with God, and the word was God” (Jn. 1).

 

Now the Greek word used here as the ‘word’ is ‘Logos’ which is more than a mere speech rather it carries “with it the idea of a thought” or “the expression or utterance of that thought”. So the ‘logos’ of God who is Christ is the’ embodiment of all the divine wisdom and collective ‘thought’ of God as expressed in Him (1 Cor. 1:24, Eph.3: 11, Col. 2:2-3, Heb. 1:1-2). Now, the beautiful good news to us is that this same ‘thought’ and ‘divine’ wisdom of God is becoming our lives and in fact our life.

“In Him (the word – logos) was life; and the life was the light of men … That was the true light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world” Jon. 1:4, 9).

 

Do you see it?, that ‘word’ which is ‘life’ is the ‘light’ of men. We are lightened as the Holy Ghost, as the word ignites our spirit man which is the candle of the Lord (Prov. 20:27) “…formed within us” (Zech. 12:1). This is the new birth. From within our spirit, the divine thoughts of God will begin to flow into our soul realm, and as we begin to walk in the light of what is flowing forth from our spirit, we are then said to be walking in the liberty of the higher law of the spirit. With this, our will is being broken and taken over by the will of the father. This then is the will of God being done in earth, (Math. 6:10) as the word takes root in us and have our lives directed by the indwelling power of the word thereby becoming the first begotten son of the father.

 

For with this, we are partakers of God’s divine nature (2 Pet. 1:4). “Seeing ye have purified (saved) your souls in obeying the truth through the spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren… being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by THE WORD OF GOD which LIVETH AND ABIDETH forever” (1 Pet. 1:21-23).

 

The living Bible puts it this way “Now you can have real love for everyone because your souls have been leaned from selfishness and hatred when you trusted in Christ (the word – logos of God) to save you; so see to it that you really do love each other warmly, with all your hearts. For you have a new life. It was not passed on to you from your parents … this new one will last forever, for it comes from Christ. God’s ever-living message to men”.

 

Beloved these are the redeemed of the Lord from among men, living out the every life of God that he intended men to live in and through, as his nature flows out from within us in all situations and circumstances. These are called the first fruit unto God and there must be the full harvest, meaning much more people shall finally come to this life being described here.

 

Now before we proceed, test yourself from the above passage. Do you think you have real love for everyone? Whether they be in your little group of fellowship or not. Even within the local assembly can you pass that test that you have genuine love for everyone irrespective ‘of tribe, colour or status? Are you convinced you have been able to overcome selfishness, hatred and the likes towards your brethren in the faith because of what you are hearing? Your very answers to these questions will prove to you as to whether you are really born again or not. You will be able to know whether your soul is saved, being saved or not. This is the acid test and you cannot run away from it. Brethren, let me tell you this, what you are today in your nature in relation to the word of God and the family of God determines who you will be in the spirit world whether you move in there by translation or death. Whatever it is, death, translation, etc, etc. will not change your character. Your perfection does not depend and cannot be effected by transition to a so called heaven, but by the life of God as imparted by the word.

 

So stop deceiving yourself into thinking that when you get to a heaven up in the sky yonder, then you will became a saint, the holy one. If you cannot become a saint today, all that is left for you as a passage way to your father, God, is the lake of fire. (Rev. 19:20, 20:10, 15; 21:8).

 

In Jer. 2:2-3, we are told that “…Israel was holiness unto the Lord, and the FIRST FRUITS of His increase…”.Why? Because they were separated unto the Lord as a bride from “a people of a strange language (Egypt)” and Judah became the sanctuary of God and Israel His Dominion” Ps. 114:1-2.

Telling us that to become holiness unto the Lord or to be a holy person is to be separated from the influence of the beastly system of man, then God will not only take delight in you but you also become the first fruit unto God right here on earth. The truth is you are called to be a saint right now..

To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Rom 1:7).

 

You don’t have to be ‘canonized’ or become one when you die. Saintliness is simply being separated unto the Lord through his life. It is not a tomorrow thing, it’s a now factor of life. All believers ought to walk the earth as Saints not in the future or when they are raised up from the dead someday. Being a saint is a calling by the Father produced by his life within us. Holiness is state of being not a character description based on laws and regulations, or that which is descriptive of particular sects beliefs or doctrines , just as we are not called as Christians to be reformed but to be transformed by his life. So be “ye holy” means I will make you holy with my life, just like he said in the beginning. ‘Let there be light and there was light’. It is a command and you have no option to do or to be otherwise as you hear the voice, for this voice carries this life and power to bring about the needed transformation.

 

The truth is, instead of all these titles of ‘Arch Bishop’, ‘Bishops’, ‘prophets’ etc etch that we go after which are only descriptive of our functions as servants of the Lords, we ought to be called ‘Saint David’, ‘Saint Mathew’, ‘Saint Jane’ ‘Saint Umukoro’ ‘Saint Julius’ ‘Saint Tunji’ etc etc which is truly descriptive of our new state of being as sons of the Father who is a Holy God.

 

The question is, how separated are you from the influence of the world around you? How is the word, life within, helping you to overcome your old habits of greed, selfishness, hatred etc? You must be born again as a first fruit unto God. You are a saint, so live as one.

 

This the is the message of the Book of Revelation, the unveiling of our true identity as the sons of God, kings and priest to reign on the Earth. It is not a passed history Book, neither is it just futuristic. So in interpreting this Book, let it not just be from historist, Preterist, or futuristic view but from the point of KINGDOM ESCATHOLGY.
