The rich Young Ruler boasted of haven kept all the laws, and his evidence is his wealth – (Mathew 19:16-26).

To the Old Testament saint, the proof of your obeying the law is your wealth, so when Jesus said the poor you will always have with you, it means there will always be Jews who will not keep all the laws in order to prosper.

The Jews never tied their poverty or ill health to a devil but lack of obedience to the law. See Deuteronomy 28:1+

But how it is today in the New Testament, all misfortunes, poverty etc is tied to the devil. Does the devil originate after Christ death to cause our poverty?

Jesus word is, if you love me keep my commandment and the father will love you and whatever you asked in my name the father will give it to you. (John 14:15-16, John 15:7). Can’t we see that we are having a wrong focus and mentality?

Did he not say if we seek the kingdom first ALL THESE THINGS will be added to us? (Mathew 6:33).meaning it is not the devil that we blame everyday that is responsible for our poverty but lack of obedience and love for the Father that is responsible.

The command is thy shall love the love the lord thy God with all your heart, mind, soul body and strength. (Mark 12:30, Deut 6:5). A total given up of yourself to the lord, and all other things shall be added., because Jesus as a young Jewish man was rich from birth and that is because he obeyed the Father’s, in all things, but he became poor that you might be made rich, what an exchange! (2 Corinthians 8:9)

The devil is not responsible. It is our lack of obedience. Think!
