Isaiah 14: 12 “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations”

Revelation 12; 7And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels 8And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night”

So we continue the deliberation on the song of the victorious ones in Revelation 12:10.

“And the power of his Christ”

The Christ here means His anointed; that is, the kingdom of Christ as the Messiah, the rule of the Christ, or as anointed and set apart to rule over the world.

And so, “Now He which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God”

2 Corinthians 1:21.

So we have what it takes to live the life and do not just His will, but His works as well being in union with Him. This is why we read of the resounding victorious voices of the heavenly dwellers in Revelation 11:15;

“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever”.

This is to be achieved as He reigns through His body that is, the anointed ones. Hence further more we are told;

Ephesians 1 20God raised him (Christ)from death and set him on a throne in deep heaven, 21in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments, no name and no power exempt from his rule. And not just for the time being, but forever. 22He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. At the center of all this, Christ rules the church. 23The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ’s body, in which HE SPEAKS AND ACTS, by which (the Church) HE FILLS EVERYTHING WITH HIS PRESENCE”. (MSG)

So what is producing these results?

Simply because “the accuser of our brethren is cast down”.  The phrase “our brethren” shows by whom this song is celebrated. Brethren are not a people up in the sky, but a language for the believers in Christ, the redeemed of the Lord from amongst humanity.

Talking about the song of the redeemed from the power of the enemy from the collective body of both the celestial and terrestrial realm and it shows the interest which they “who have passed the flood” have in the trials, the sorrows, and the triumphs of those who are still to overcome the power of the enemy though it has been accomplished through the cross just like the Lord told Paul, am delivering you and sending you to them. (Acts 26:18). The overcomers still relate with those who are yet to get the victory over the deceptive power of the devil religiously and otherwise.

“Day and Night”

We are told that the accusation of the brethren was done Day and Night.

This is also very significant to note where the accusation was taking place; it was on the earth not in heaven up stairs, because it is a realm that belongs to the earth not heaven or eternity. See it;

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease” Genesis 8:22, (Compare Jeremiah 33:20,25).

Telling us again that this is not what happened some years back in some spiritual realms. It was a day and Night affair, meaning it all happened here on the Earth, for Day and Night are not to be found in eternity or heavenly realms. It is simply for seasons on the Earth (Genesis 1:14-18).

One thing is certain, the devil was using the instrument of the law to accuse us of sins every day in our conscience and feeling guilty so we can’t approach God as our Father. But through the sacrifice of Christ, the word is;

1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh” Romans 8:1-3.

So we can understand what the devil as it were was fighting for in Jude 9 “Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee” As it is said, ”Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come”. Romans 5:14.

Why? Because the wages of sin is death, and the power of sin is the law. “The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.” 1 Corinthians 15:56

So we found that the ‘Body of Moses’ was simply the law, while the Body of Christ is the law of His spirit of life in His Church.

Therefore the struggle was for sin not to be put away by Michael (Christ) on the cross so that the power of sin might continue to reign. But now in Christ Jesus we are a righteous people. Sin has been dealt with.

Therefore, Satan in Revelation 12 has no relationship with the word Lucifer in Isaiah 14. While Lucifer speaks of the king of Babylon, Revelation 12 is dealing with the triumph of the work of Christ over paganism in the Roman Empire and the victory of the cross over the evil works of rebellion in our hearts.

To be continued as we deal with Ezekiel 28; “The Cherub in Eden”, another exciting but confusing subject within the Body of Christ.
