WHO THEN ARE THE REST OF THE DEAD? Rev. 20:5.

Rev. 20:4 “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years 5 BUT THE REST OF THE DEAD LIVED NOT again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.”

Ans. Rom. 7:5, “For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.”

Eph. 2:1, “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”

Col. 2: 13, “And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses.”

Let’s locate the true meanings of these words; BUT THE REST OF THE DEAD LIVED NOT…

Answer. (a) “Dead”-Nekros, a corpse. Jesus speaking to the Pharisees said, Matt. 23:27,

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness,” (Luke 11:44).

Meaning the Pharisees were walking dead religiously speaking. You can religiously be ok but walking with dead spirits looking for expressions through you. Meaning you are like a graveyard carrying the spirits of the dead. So the dead here in Rev. 20 has nothing to do with those in the cemetery.

“REST” -LOIPOY-Remaining ones, other which remain, remnant, residue, rest”

“LIVED”= Anazao-to recover life (lit or fig) be alive again, revive.”

Speaking about the prodigal son, the father said, Luke 15:24,

“For this my son was DEAD, and is ALIVE AGAIN; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. 32 it was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.”

So where was he buried? You see, with the Jews once you are out of the father’s household, you are seen as dead, even outside Palestine in those days in their slavery they were regarded as dead.

So you don’t have to be buried in the cemetery to get resurrected.

Meaning once you can relocate yourself back to the Fathers House, the realm of God’s life and spirit, your born again experience, then you have been resurrected.

It therefore means that those who could not attain by way of their faith in Christ to be born again at this day, period of time, that we are in are “the rest of the DEAD which live not until” the thousand years were finished.

That is, they could not come to the rest of God in Christ. They are awaiting that realm of second death which is the lake of fire.

Meaning also that what the Cross-Blood could not do for them, the lake of fire will have to do. Why? Because all spirit must return to God who gave it, Ecl. 12:7

So all those who could not receive (recover) their real life, which is the life of Christ (Eph. 3:17; Gal. 2:20) are the rest of the dead.

These shall end up in the Lake of Fire which is the second death, Rev. 20:10, 13. Not somewhere in the ground, mind you!

All the rest of the dead are those still under the influence of the Adam life instead of the Christ Life.

In summary therefore, we found that Christians are reigning now, experiencing the rest and the victory of Christ in that which is called the one thousand years, triumphing over every work of the enemy as they bring them into subjection. This is the first resurrection and the rest of the dead are those who have not attained to this life of Christ.

The Millennium, therefore, is the eternal Day of God in Christ as He reigns in His kingdom with authority given to the Saints of the Most High through the power of the Holy Ghost, as Satan is bound for the believers in the work of the Cross of Christ which is the first resurrection.

All who have not attained to this are the rest of the dead. The thousand years is not in arithmetical values by calculation but an eternal Day of God’s rest
