The Defeat of Mystery Babylon.
Revelation 16:12-16 “12And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared… 14For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty… 16And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon”.
Revelation 19:19 “And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army”
Now we want to consider how the Rivers Euphrates of Babylon was dried up which resulted in the defeat of Babylon the great.
Don’t forget we are dealing with spiritual realities and to note that the great victory over Babylon shall be accomplished at the great symbolic battle of Armageddon.
Writing on the great war, John said;
“And these shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of Lords, and King of Kings: and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful” (Revelation 17:14).
Here we found three categories of Christians that are with the Lamb, the called like Abraham, the Chosen like Paul who was a chosen vessel and the faithful; those who are committed to staying in the sphere that God called them into.
Friends, I can assure you that God is even now in the process of “drying up the waters” of the Euphrates, the river of modern Babylon. This is why He is calling out His people from Babylon “come out of her, my people” (Revelation 18:4) who have been held captive for so long within her borders, her creeds, static and idolatrous doctrines, cold, dead forms and ceremonies, rituals, laws and by-laws, programs, and un-spiritual and un-scriptural methods and institutions. And this pulling out of God’s people to Himself is the workings of the Holy Spirit, as He quickens the mind and understanding of men to see light and truth. Here they will begin to identify God as their true source of life instead of depending on religious fantasies and manipulations. Worship will now be in spirit and in truth (John 4:24), unto a pure and undefiled walk in the spirit, under the absolute headship of Jesus Christ.
And so, in Revelation 18:20, 22-23 we are told, “Rejoice over her (Babylon), thou heaven (those seated with Christ in the heavenlies), and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her. And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers (spiritual praise and worship), and trumpeters (ministries sounding forth a message from God), SHALL BE HEARD NO MORE AT ALL IN THEE; and the sound of a millstone (the grinding of meal for bread, the living word of God) SHALL BE HEARD NO MORE AT ALL IN THEE; and the light of a candle (even the little light that was in Babylon) SHALL SHINE NO MORE AT ALL IN THEE; and the voice of the bridegroom (Jesus) and of the bride (the elect, chosen, called ) SHALL BE HEARD NO MORE AT ALL IN THEE: for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived”
So as the Father withdraws all of these ministries and light from the midst of Babylon, the water of her river, which is her source of strength, glory and power is dried up. All of the blessing of God, all of the anointing of God, all of the life that was ever in her is dried up, and is no more. Meaning as a city, her walls are down, no more protection. Now men will see her games and manipulations in the name of power. Mystery Babylon has finally met her doom.
And this is coming to her like a thief (Revelation 16:15). For we are told;
“And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus, with violence, shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all” (Revelation 18:8,21).
What a forceful destruction this portrays to us.
Interestingly enough, we are told of this gradual consuming process as shown by Daniel 7:26, “But the judgment (of the saints) shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.”
This is the arising of the suns of light as seen in Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.”
So, what are we saying?
It should be understood that one of the outcomes of “the battle of the great day of God Almighty” Armageddon is the total and utter destruction of Babylon.
May the Lord be with your spirit everyone that has found time to read through with comprehension of that which the war of Armageddon stands for as a new day begins to dawn for us as suns of the morning.
The End.
