Revelation 16:12&16 “12And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared 16…And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon”
Revelation 19:19 “And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army”
The Euphrates River.
I want to take a look at the crossing of the River Euphrates by the kings of the East and close this discussion, observing that what you really needed to know about Armageddon has been fully dealt with.
In verse 12 of Revelation 16, we are told “And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared”
Just for a reminder, to the fact that ‘when we look at the battle of Armageddon as described in Rev 16:12-16, we are not and should not be expecting any gathering of the nations literally to the hill of Megiddo. Rather we are talking of that which is symbolized by the mountain of Megiddo. And to keep in mind that even as we speak, this great battle is even now taking shape in the political, economic and ecclesiastical realms, but we must not lose sight of the fact that the term Armageddon is used primarily in a spiritual sense, as this great battle rages in a dual realm of both the earthlies and heavenlies.
Dealing with the heavenly realms, it is first and foremost a battle involving the great Dragon and the Man-child of Revelation 12:3-10; but once we realize that, as it is in the heavens so also on the earth, then we must realise that there is a replication of that which happens in the heavenlies on the Earth. This is why, when the Sons of God have cast the Dragon out of the heavenlies, the cry goes out, “Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth he hath but a short time” (Revelation 12:12).
It is therefore easy to see how this battle plays out in both realms, and how this warfare reflects both on individuals and corporately.
And so, in reference to this antitypical Babylon we read;
“And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the waters thereof were dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared” (Revelation 16:12).
Now get this, the literal Euphrates Rivers waters were dried up, or turned out of their course, to allow the armies of the Medes to enter into the literal Babylon of old that led to her overthrow in history. But don’t forget that, just as there was a literal Babylon, there is also a mystical Babylon the great, with her mystical waters;
Revelation 17 “1And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:… 5And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH… 15And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues… 18And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth”
So here we are talking of the religious/political system controlling humanity, to which all have made their allegiance.
Evidently then, when the moment comes for the overthrow of this great city, the mystical Babylon, with her mystical waters, or whatever spiritual life and anointing she has so depended on, but seemingly staying back the hands of God from judging her up until this hour that we are in, shall be dried up, to make way “so that might be prepared the way of the kings, those who are of the rising of a sun” (Literal Greek).
Not kings of East as seen in the KJV, which makes preachers to think it has to do with the Nations from East as Moscow, Russia or otherwise.
So, who are the kings of the rising sun? Of course, it is the Church. See it here;
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness (of the day of the Lord) shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but THE LORD SHALL ARISE UPON THEE, and His glory shall be seen upon thee. And Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Therefore, thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day or night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought. For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted” (Isaiah 60:1-3, 11-12).
So, next; how is ‘Babylon’s water going to be dried up’?
To be continued…
