Rev. 20:1 “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.”

Summary.

John 12:31, “Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.”

Matt. 12:28, “But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. 29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.”

John 16: 8, “And when he (Holy Spirit) is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; 11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.”

(See 1 John 3:8; Luke 10:18)

From the above passages it is evident that Satan was bound long ago when Jesus came through the release of the Holy Spirit. It is not His second coming event that He intends to bind Satan. Christ coming was for the destruction of the work of Satan (John 3:8) and that was the binding of Satan.

When you enter into Christ, you enter your thousand years which is a Day. Satan is Spirit.

Eph. 2:1, “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.”

Here we see clearly that Satan is a spirit that works in the hearts of people. But for the born again believer, he has gotten his spirit raised up within him being regenerated and seated with Christ (Eph. 2:6), as Satan has been dislodged from his spirit. For (John 4:24)

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him (in his human -spirit) and in truth.” And this is the spirit of Truth and not of error that belongs to the world.

1 Cor. 2:12, “Now we have received, NOT THE SPIRIT OF THE WORLD, but the spirit which is of God…”

Meaning we have both good and bad spirits in the world. Positive and Negative = Light and Darkness; and so when you are saved, it is (Acts 26:18) “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”

Binding of Satan.

Mind you this is a vision. These are spiritual dramas being played out, so the passage must not be taken literally but symbolically.

So how do you bind Satan? Everything about the dragon called Satan that he has ever used to intimidate and influence us we will put or restrain by and through the loving word of God within us, the true knowledge of the Truth.”

You see beloved, reading from chapter 19 of Revelation, we see that the work of deception of the devil was at work and not being checked. But getting to chapter 20, he got bound from carrying out its purposes. That’s the excess of the opening of this chapter 20 of the Book of Revelation.

The angel is the Christ, the living word. He alone can bind Satan and restrain his power. He alone had the key of hell and death. He has come out of our heavenly realm, spirit, to our earth realm. Having cast him into the abyss, he sealed him that he may not deceive the nations anymore.

How did Christ descend in the beginning? Just by Luke 1:35, “…The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee (Mary), and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” So His coming is in spirit form into our subconscious being-spirit. So the binding is to stop his DECEPTION.

So how do we bind him today? Note if the devil is spirit then you can’t bind him with literal chains. It’s the height of religion to believe a thing like that. The devil is bound as we speak of the word of God now written within every believer.

In other words, the word from heaven must be made flesh within us. This is the only way the dragon can be bound within our being. Then the word we have received within us must be made flesh as we release the voice of the Son of God. So just like it was with the Son of God (Jesus Christ) so shall it be with every man. The word must be made flesh within us.

So how is the devil let loose? Just as we said before, when Martin declared,“the just shall live by faith,” the devil was bound. And when that truth began to be watered down by religion, the devil was let loose again for a season. The truth comes up again and what follows that truth? He is bound!

So this is a circle of binding and losing, binding and loosing even within us. As we fall out of the truth to embrace falsehood, the devil is let loose again in our lives and in the nations of the earth by the kind of doctrines that we push around.

Otherwise what will be the purpose of Christ letting the devil loose for a season while He is reigning in our supposed millennium period as a king? Let’s think for a moment on the things we are believing in and proclaiming as Christians. Most of us are just living on false hopes. And it’s sad!

Friends, it’s not the coming of Christ a second time that binds the devil but the Truth – Christ that is revealed within His people. Praise the Lord!

The End.
