Rev. 20:12, “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and ANOTHER BOOK was opened, which is the BOOK OF LIFE: and the dead were JUDGED out of those things which were written in THE BOOKS, according to their works.”

THE BOOK OF THE LIFE OF THE LAMB

I don’t know what you see in your mind’s eye when you think of the Lamb’s Book of Life.
Before we move to discovering fully the Book of the Life of the Lamb, can we just take a little reflection on what we have ever believed as revealed to us in films and pages of Christian magazines?

You are born into the kingdom; and then you are told that except you live a particular kind of life on a daily basis, there is an angel assigned to you who takes records of all of your doings. And that at death when you get to this gate of heaven, this angel comes up and presents your records in this Book before the angel-judge and your records are examined.

Then maybe if you scale through then another angel comes up and shows you the way to heaven. And if your records couldn’t match up, the devil comes up and starts taking you to hell fire where you will be roasted forever and you will never die.

What a picture that we already have in our minds that we are living with daily as believers.

But what is this Lamb’s Book of Life?

We read, “And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his heads the names of blasphemy. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world,” Rev. 13:1,8.

If we compare this reading from the Emphatic Diaglott, the last part says

“The Book of the Life of the Lamb.”

So what in reality is – THE BOOK OF THE LIFE OF THE LAMB? This certainly is one Book and not many Books.

When you look around you in book shops and libraries, you will see volumes of books all relating to one subject or another. For the Christian community they have books on Christian living, doctrines, expositions on the Bible, subjects like spiritual life and death and even how to conduct weddings and funeral services as to how to bury the dead, etc.

These are all the books men have written that are all over the place and most all of these books contain nothing but death messages.

But in His infinite wisdom for the past thousands of years He has been writing a Book by the Holy Spirit in the hearts and minds of men bit by bit that speaks of life and more life in this one Book.

Now let us begin to understand something. How many of you know what is called a biography?

This is a piece of literature written by an individual or someone apart from the owner that speaks about the person’s life, his activities, hobbies, etc. It is simply the account of how the person lived his life, his achievements and old times or their history.

So we know that if the author of the book is the person about whom it is written, it is called an autobiography – the story of one’s own life written by oneself. Each and every detail of his life would be there.

Now THE BOOK OF LIFE is called “THE BOOK OF THE LIFE OF THE LAMB.”

So what is that supposed to mean to you? Meaning this Book should contain everything you need to know of the life of that individual,and in this case it is that of the life and activities of the Lamb.
