Rev. 20:12, “…ANOTHER BOOK was opened, which is the BOOK OF LIFE: and the dead were JUDGED out of those things which were written in THE BOOKS, according to their works.” “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in THE BOOK OF THE LIFE OF THE LAMB slain from the foundation of the world” (Rev. 13:8).

As we have seen, this Volume of the Book we are looking at is about a people. We are also recognizing that it is the DNA of the individuals that makes up the Body of Christ and such that have been called by His name and now have the same identity as He does.

This is why we read, “And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads,” Rev. 14:1.

Now the word WITH is META in the Greek which speaks of “union,” “companionship,” “fellowship,”“conjunction,” “in the midst of,” “thoughts,” etc.

So here we see that the 144,000 are such that have the same mindset of vision, goals, etc., with the Lamb-Christ with whom they are now in Mount Zion, the Church of the firstborn, the heavenly Jerusalem (Heb. 12:22-23).

Now the law with which they walk in this Mountain is the law of the Spirit of Christ (Rom. 8:2). Therefore we read,

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be my people. In that He says, A new covenant, He has made the first old. Now that which decays and waxes old is ready to vanish away,” (Heb. 8:10,13).

So while the Old Covenant through Moses was engraved in stones, it was external and could not touch their conscience or enable them to fellowship or keep the principles and laws therein. They could not keep the promises they made declaring obedience to all that God said; because they lacked the power to do so, since it was outside of them.

Therefore, in order to get a people to Himself who can walk the walk in obedience to His will, He set up a new covenant with the laws written in their hearts and minds, so that through the workings of the Holy Spirit within them they end up becoming the law of God personified as God’s new Covenant People.

In other words you might say there is the COVENANT OF GOD standing before you for all eyes to see. In the Old order the reference point was the tablets of stone. You have to point to the law written there to come up with any form of justice and rule to guide the people.

But in this new order, the people become the reference point. Hence, Paul would say to the Corinthian Church;

“Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men,” (2 Cor. 3:2).

“You yourselves are all the endorsement we need. Your very lives are a letter that anyone can read by just looking at you,” Msg.

“[No] you yourselves are our letter of recommendation (our credentials), written in your hearts, to be known (perceived, recognized) and read by everybody,” Amp.

So in all imagination, the new covenant is the law of God inscribed in the minds and hearts of a people, not just some law which is external, but here is what I call a PEOPLED-LAW. These are truly the New Covenant –THE BOOK OF GOD’S LIFE.

Here we are told,

“Let the word of Christ (the life of God) dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him,” Col. 3:16-17.

By implication everything you do is to reveal and reflect the God-Christ in your being for others to partake in. This is you expressing God visibly for others to read and know who God really is. Jesus would say,

“..he that hath seen me hath seen the Father;” “And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me” (John 14:9; 12:45).

In the language of Paul,

“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ,” (1Cor. 11:1).

What’s that supposed to mean? Paul is saying, if you can follow my lifestyle, you will get to God just as I am a follower of Christ. Now man in Christ is becoming a signpost to the Father. Glory!

This is certainly what Christianity is all about, becoming the door to the Father just like Jesus was the ladder that Jacob saw with angels ascending and descending upon it (Him) to get to heaven and back (John 1:52; Gen. 28:12).
