Matt. 16:28, “Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.”
Matt. 17:1, “And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.”
2Pet. 1:16, “For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you THE POWER AND THE COMING of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.”
Again, we state unequivocally that the promise by Jesus to those who stood by of His coming in their days was fully manifested as He picked Peter, James and John and transfigured before them. And that transfiguration was explained to mean His coming by Peter.
So what exactly was this transfiguration?
It was the revelation of His sonship. Watch this; you see when Jesus asked the disciples who do men say that I am;
Matt. 16: “…Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” The answer Peter gave was, “16 Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Now notice he didn’t say thou art Jesus.
John the Baptist identifying Jesus said in John 1:29,
“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”
He didn’t say Christ. So you see, the Christ who is the Son of God was resident in Jesus the Lamb of God.
Therefore what happened on the Mount of transfiguration was the breaking forth of the Son of God through the veil of the Lamb called Jesus. And that is what is referred to as the “coming of the son of God in His kingdom;” because the kingdom is within you, Luke 17:20-21.
To be expecting a floating down from the sky of an individual called Jesus is a big undoing of the Church, and so we miss His coming through us where He now resides to creation.
“Christ is our Life”
Look at it; Col. 3:1, “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”
Ampl. Col. 3:3, “For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, Who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in [the splendor of His] glory.”
Can you see that? It means there shall be a manifestation of the same glory that Jesus exhibited by way of the transfiguration on the Mount.
That my friend is our lot in Christ that we are waiting for. His appearance is not from the sky but from within where He is right now.
Again, who is the Christ that is resident within you?
See this;
Acts 2: 34, “For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made THAT SAME JESUS, whom ye have crucified, BOTH LORD and CHRIST.“ And “Now the Lord is that Spirit..”(2Cor. 3:17) that same Spirit that came on the Day of Pentecost.
Can you see it? The Jesus that was crucified is now Spirit that came on the day of Pentecost and is now resident within you. This is where He is coming from that will transform our mortal Bodies to the same glory of His transfiguration. That is how He comes in Transfiguration power and glory.
The Transfiguration was the coming of Christ as promised then to those around Him. Surely He came and Peter, James and John saw His coming. Don’t miss that point.
He never lied or deceived the people, neither was He telling them what will come up in a future age.
The problem we have is, not knowing or understanding what He said and who He said what to and why He said what He said to such people.
This promise of His coming was to those who were standing there with Him when He made the promise not for a thousand years’ of saints down the line as we assume it to be His second coming .
