2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”
The emphasis here is the word “STUDY”. Which in the Greek means “to use speed, that is, to make effort, be prompt or earnest: – do (give) diligence, be diligent (forward), endeavour, labour, study”
For instance, what we project as Rapture using the word taken or took in;
Matthew 24, “38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark 39And knew not until the flood came, and TOOK THEM ALL AWAY; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be”
Compare this narrative in Luke’s account what you have is
Luke 17, “26And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all”
You see what is termed taken or took away as the RAPTURE in Matthew 24 is actually DESTRUCTION in Luke’s account. Only a diligent study can reveal this or else you will just be running with what people say and yet not found in the scriptures.
So, we are not asked to read or peruse the word, but studying to get God’s approval in doctrine requires diligence and high level of concentration.
The reason we have so much doctrinal abuse today in the Body is because we lack men of diligence, studying God’s word unlike the saints of old.
And so, we get men’s approval, that is, we accept whatever is poured out and push the same even though it doesn’t align with God’s intent and purposes.
You know what? The Bible is meant to give directions and answers to the ultimate plan and God’s intent for man and creation. When these are not revealed in what you push, It’s all because you lack diligent study.
Read Books, but study the Bible.
