Daniel 9:27 “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate”

CONFIRMING THE COVENANT WITH MANY FOR ONE WEEK

“And He shall confirm the covenant with many for one week…” (KJV)

“And He shall make a strong covenant with many for one week …” (RSV)

“He will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven…” (TLB)

“And He must keep the covenant in force for the many for one week… ” (Int. Linear)

First, hear the common “theological” belief here in this verse: They say;

“The man of sin that will show up, after the rapture of the church, will offer the Jews a masterful peace treaty that will allow them to resume their animal sacrifices in their newly rebuilt temple. That for 31/32 years, they will enjoy this peace and religious freedom, then all of a sudden, the man of sin will break his promise, stop the Jews from entering the temple and a terrible Great tribulation will begin”

This woven, deadly fabricated theory is simply because of just that one line in verse 27.

What is really shocking to me is that, considering the calibre of elites in the Church, they cannot read between the lines, to be able to separate “the chaff” from “the wheat” of falsehood. Then we can conclude that, these are really spiritual issues, and no carnal mind can receive or apprehend them. (1 Corinthians 2:12-14).

Now, just a little recap of the picture so far, as we proceed: We are told divinely that the Messiah was cut off (killed) after three score and two weeks, within the 7 weeks for the rebuilding of Jerusalem, now we have 69th week.

After the 69th week, what we shall have is the 70th week, and this is when “he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week or 7 years.

Considering Mark 1:14-15, when Jesus began His ministry by saying “The Time is fulfilled…” which was in reference to the prophecies of Daniel, that was the end of the 69th week, and that immediately takes us to the 70th week.

How long “is this one week”?

Jesus did ministry for 31/32years “confirming the covenant to many” personally. And then He was killed, in the middle of the week. Leaving His Disciples to complete the remaining 31/32years of the one-week, until Stephen was stoned to death. Therefore Jesus did confirm the covenant for one week.

The word “confirm” itself, does not mean TO MAKE, as most of our theological experts have told us. Implying that the Antichrist will ‘make’ a covenant with the Jews.

The Hebrew word confirm (gaw-bar) means “to be strong” “to prevail; put to more strength or to strengthen. Therefore, this word has nothing whatsoever to do with an Antichrist “making” a covenant or treaty with the Jewish people; infact, the covenant is with “many People” not with the Jews alone. The “He’ there has nothing either to do with the Anti-Christ.

This HE is the Christ, the expected Messiah Himself, establishing the covenant of the New Testament with His sacrifice. It is dangerous to ascribe the work of Christ’s atonement for all mankind to an Antichrist just because of the way we have taught and believed into by our forefathers in the Faith and some theological schools. How sad!
