“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” Matthew 28:19.

The next thing I will like us to examine again is the statement of Jesus to Nicodemus; “that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

Again a careful look will show that the first spirit has ‘S’ as a capital letter as compared to the second one that has a small ‘s’. What that means to tell us is that, The Holy Spirit will ignite our human spirit which is the candle of the Lord.

“The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly” (Proverbs 20:27).

Remember that those that believe, out of their belly (heart) shall flow rivers of living water. (John 7:37)

So, this is what it means to be born again, therefore, the true birth starts from the human spirit. And this perfectly agrees with the pattern Moses had in building the tabernacle in the wilderness, he started with and from the Holy of Holies. Paul also confirmed this when he said;

“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” 1Thessalonian 5:23.

So we see that salvation starts from the ”spirit”, then the “soul” and finally the “Body”.

But in our religious and theological misconception, we think salvation starts from the outside that is why we have to baptize people first to give them approval.

And once we do that, we claim the people are saved. But the truth is, salvation can start from anywhere within the process of man’s redemption; it could be at the beginning, the middle or at the end of man’s life journey.

It is not tied to water baptism, this is why we have people who though in the Church, having received water baptism, but their lives are no better. Reason is because though their spirit has receive the light of the Holy Spirit, their soul is in the process of being born again, so they are best referred to as carnal Christians.

1 Corinthians 3:1 “1And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. 2I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men”

So we see that all those who are though in the Church but are full of quarreling, backbiting, gossiping, etc though born again in their spirit but they are yet to be redeemed in their soul which is made up of, the mind, the will, the emotions and the intellect.

This too is the redemption of the Soul which flows from the spirit, the Most Holy Place.

THE TRUE BAPTISM OF JESUS IS A HEART ISSUE.

So what do we mean when Jesus said we should go into the Nations and baptize them in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19)?
