Dear Pastor,
In judges 17 is an interesting story of;
Why most Pastors migrate to certain locations even when God is not involved.
Why they choose Spiritual Fathers even when they cannot unlock the grace in their lives for true ministry effectiveness. They have nothing in common in terms of spiritual impartation in relation to their ministries, but they submit because of three major factors.
Do you claim someone as a spiritual Father even though you do not have access to that individual because he is famous and neglect those who raise you and gave you a platform to stand on in your early years? That is an idol Priesthood Pastor Sir.
Look at this;
Judges 17, “8And the man departed out of the city from Bethlehemjudah to sojourn where he could find a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed
9And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a Levite of Bethlehemjudah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place. 10And Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee TEN SHEKELS OF SILVER by the year, and A SUIT OF APPAREL, and THY VICTUALS So the Levite went in”.
The Levite went to serve in this idol home because of these three factors, viz; good wages, clothes and food. Think about it.
Are they what determine your movement to the new location?
Did you figure this out in your imagination and you called it the voice of God leading you?
Did you choose your Spiritual Father because he can make these things available even when he cannot impart to you or unlock the grace in your calling like Paul did to Timothy? You are an idol Priest-Pastor Sir.
The Rescue Operation
It took a team of good willed people who care for him to rescue him from this bondage to idolatry even though his DNA was that of a Levite-Priest.
Judges 17:18-19, “18And these went into Micah’s house, and fetched the carved image, the ephod, and the teraphim, and the molten image. Then said the priest unto them, what do ye?
19And they said unto him, Hold thy peace, lay thine hand upon thy mouth, and go with us, and be to us a father and a priest: is it better for thee to be a priest unto the house of one man, or that thou be a priest unto a tribe and a family in Israel?”
Can you imagine the choice he made, to serve an individual instead of a whole tribe? All because of food, clothes and money.
The idol priesthood has no conscience. He is led by THINGS not the voice or Spirit of God nor the consideration for the people that God has brought unto him.
Where God really wants him to be doesn’t matter to him as long as these things cannot be provided for him instantly.
Dear Pastor, check your motives in that which you do in ministry to avoid being an idol Priest-Pastor.
Be blessed!
